You may be closer than you think to earning your degree, diploma, or certificate. Kaplan University online will consider accepting transfer credits from accredited postsecondary institutions, various certification exams, and military traning and experience. Students applying for credit in any of the categories described below must submit official transcripts, course descriptions, and other supporting documentation prior to the official awarding of credit.

 Previous Education or Training 

Course credit may be transferred from any Kaplan education institution upon a student’s acceptance to the receiving Kaplan educational institution. The transfer of credit award will be based on:
  • courses that have a grade of “C” or better;
  • course descriptions, objectives, or outcomes;
  • core/major courses that apply to the program; and
  • conversions from quarter to semester credit systems, or vice versa, that follow common practices for academic credit conversions. Course-to-course transfers based on course objectives or outcomes can be made in lieu of the academic credit conversions.

Credit cannot be transferred until an official transcript is submitted to the Kaplan Higher Education institution evaluating the transfer credit.

Students transferring from any Kaplan educational institution must complete a minimum of 25 percent of the course credit at the Kaplan Higher Education institution awarding the graduation credential.
