Lisa
Gefen Sicilian is the chief administrative officer for Kaplan University Group.
She oversees top-level administrative functions for Kaplan University Group
including accreditation, human resources, legal and compliance, communications,
and real estate and facilities. Lisa joined Kaplan in 2003 and has held several
leadership positions including chief administrative officer for Kaplan Higher
Education and senior vice president of legal and human resources for Kaplan
University. She is an accomplished executive with a diverse background who is
widely respected for her ethics and commitment to drive cultural change.
Prior
to joining Kaplan, Lisa was vice president and corporate secretary of United
States Sugar Corporation, where she managed a staff of attorneys, supervised
outside counsel and developed the strategic legal decision-making practice used
by the corporation and its diverse subsidiaries. She also worked for
AlliedSignal and the Washington, D.C. law firms of Sidley Austin and Verner,
Liipfert, Bernhard, McPherson and Hand. Lisa began her career clerking for
three judges at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Lisa
holds a Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts
in Political Science and Communications from Goucher College, where she
graduated Phi Beta Kappa. She is the founding facilitator of the Women
President’s Organization, South Florida Chapter; a member of the Maryland and
District of Columbia Bar Associations; and in-house counsel member of the
Florida Bar.
