Frank J. DiMarino was named Dean of the School of Legal Studies in 2011 after serving as Dean of the School of Criminal Justice for 5 years. He joined Kaplan University in 2004 as a faculty member in the School of Criminal Justice. In 2005, he received the Kaplan University Outstanding Graduate Faculty award. He has over 30 years of experience as a legal educator, and has taught a variety of courses throughout his career for online and on-campus programs, including Torts, Business Law, Criminal Law, Constitutional Civil Liberties, Wills and Trusts, and Environmental Law.
In addition to his experience as an
educator, Dean DiMarino tried cases in federal court in the Southern District
of Florida and the Southern District of Georgia as an Assistant United States
Attorney. He also argued before the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. Dean
DiMarino’s experience also includes litigating cases before administrative law
judges as a senior trial attorney for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
He is a retired Judge Advocate General’s officer having served in Nuremburg,
Germany, and during Desert Storm. He has
worked with scores of paralegals and investigators preparing cases for trial
and using technology in the courtroom.
Dean DiMarino is admitted to practice law in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. He has coauthored textbooks on courts, criminal justice, and investigation and has taught as an adjunct instructor at several universities since 1978.
DiMarino earned his LLM at George Washington University School of Law, his JD at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, and an AB at Georgetown University.
