FAQs
How Does It Work?
Using the data you enter, the calculator displays the net
price of attending Kaplan University for one academic year, the amount of
federal financial aid (excluding federal student loans) for which you may be
eligible, and the amount of out-of-pocket funds that you or your family could
reasonably expect to contribute. The net price calculator considers the total
cost of attendance, including tuition, fees, books and supplies, living
expenses such as room and board, and other personal expenses. The results will only be as reliable as the data you
provide.
What Do the Calculator Results Mean for Me?
You
should use the results from the net price calculator to make an informed
decision about college affordability, but, keep in mind, that is just an
estimation of net costs. There are many factors in determining a student’s
total financial aid package, many of which are not reflected in this
calculator. We encourage you to contact us to discuss additional types
of aid that may be available to you, including grants, loans, scholarships,
and reduced military tuition rates. You can also learn more about financial
aid options by exploring our financial aid videos.
How Will I Know If I Am Eligible for Financial Aid?
To be eligible for federal financial aid, you must complete
the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA; www.fafsa.gov). The Financial Aid Office
will help you determine your aid eligibility, which will likely be different
than the figures shown in this calculator.
Why Does the Calculator Use Data From 2009–2010?
The calculator is based on 2009-2010 data from the federal
government, the most recent year for which data are available.
What If I Am Not a First-Time, Full-Time Student?
The net price calculator estimates apply to new, full-time, first-time,
degree-seeking undergraduate students only. It is not intended for use by
transfer, continuing, part-time, readmitted, or graduate students.
Should International Students Use the Net Price Calculator?
The net price calculator is intended for domestic students only. International students should contact us to find out more information regarding international pricing benefits.
