Third-Party Billing (Tuition Assistance)
When a private or government agency pays a portion of your tuition, fees, or required textbooks, this is considered
third-party billing. The agency will receive a bill directly from the University and send the payment directly to the University (NOT to you, the student). Third-party billing plans are available through employers and military/government agencies if:
- Kaplan University has approved your private agency for direct billing
- You are currently an active-duty servicemember or a civilian government contract employee
- You are currently eligible for benefits under Veterans Affairs Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (Chapter 31 only)
Employer Tuition Assistance Employer third-party billing is only available as an option if the student/private agency provides the necessary tuition assistance documents prior to each term of enrollment. The tuition assistance documents must meet all standard requirements and will provide Kaplan University with direct bill authorization. If your employment with an approved direct-bill company is terminated, you will be responsible for paying the tuition balance.
To have a private agency approved for direct billing, please send the following information to
TAVOUCHER@kaplan.edu:
- The name of the company
- The contact information for the Educational Benefits Coordinator
